Pigeon flocks have long been one of the most recognizable regulars on the National Dong Hwa University campus, with their presence visible throughout the entire area. In the past, the growing wild pigeon population caused various impacts on both students and visitors, and it was common to see the sky filled with a dense gray mass of birds. In response, the university implemented a series of control measures, including installing anti-pigeon netting and removing pigeon eggs, which have gradually reduced the population in recent years.

Nevertheless, pigeons remain permanent residents of NDHU. They can be seen patrolling and wandering across the campus every day—treating it as their home while also quietly becoming a distinctive part of university life.
