Apprentice Time Traveler

Welcome to Josh’s website. The author is Hsu, Yao-Chih, also known as Josh.

I graduated from the Department of Applied Mathematics at National Dong Hwa University. I’m currently an apprentice time traveler, searching for ways to catch a glimpse of the future.

Previously, I worked as a part-time teacher at a junior high school in Hualien County. I hope to make knowledge accessible through simple and engaging explanations, inspiring students to explore the world through the vast ocean of knowledge.

Zhiverse, Diving into the Ocean of Knowledge

In this era of big data, collecting and analyzing information has become increasingly important. No matter where we are, we are constantly surrounded by an overwhelming amount of information. With smartphones, tablets, computers, and other devices, we can easily connect to the global internet and access the latest information from around the world at any time.

But the easier information becomes to access, the easier it is for us to forget.

The articles we have read, the knowledge we have learned, the problems we have solved, and the ideas that suddenly crossed our minds can all fade away over time. Without leaving a record, they may eventually become nothing more than a vague feeling that “I think I used to know this.”

That is why I created this website.

This is not simply a place to share articles. It is also a small space where I can document what I have learned, organize my thoughts, preserve my discoveries, and keep track of what I have accomplished. I hope that when I look back in the future, I will still be able to see the paths I have taken and remember how far I have come.

About This Site

What Will You Find Here?

This site does not have a fixed theme or a strict classification system. I simply want to document the things I learn in everyday life and present them in a relaxed and approachable way. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mathematics and logic
  • Data analysis and programming
  • Education and teaching
  • Web development and technical notes
  • Everyday life
  • Fun gaming moments
  • All kinds of strange and quirky experiments
  • Anything that makes me suddenly think, “I should probably write this down.”

There is no daily or weekly posting schedule here, nor is there a KPI requiring me to publish three articles every week. After all, knowledge is not a convenience store, it does not need to be restocked every day.

Instead, I would rather update the site whenever I have something worth sharing: a result, a discovery, or simply something I feel is worth recording. There may be periods when new posts appear frequently, followed by quieter stretches. That is perfectly fine. What matters is that every update leaves something meaningful behind.

I hope this site can gradually grow into a small personal knowledge base. Things I learn today, problems I encounter, things I manage to build, and even failed attempts can all be recorded here.

Years from now, when I look back, I might find myself thinking, “Oh, I actually did this before.” Or perhaps I will stop and wonder, “Wait, how did I ever write something like this?”

If it is the latter, I suppose that counts as a kind of growth, too.

This is a long-term record, slowly built up over time.

Site History

This site was established in 2025. It was originally planned for 2024, but the project was delayed due to the April 3 Hualien Earthquake, which caused significant damage to the buildings at my graduate school.

It may have taken a little longer than expected, but I eventually built it. Some things do not necessarily have to happen on time. As long as you eventually take the first step, it is never too late.

Recent Discoveries

If this is your first time here, feel free to look around. You might find an article that helps you with something, or you might simply stumble upon one of my strange little experiments.

Finally…

If I had to describe this place in just one sentence, it would probably be this:

This is where Josh keeps the things he picks up while diving through the ocean of knowledge.

Sometimes, I pick up knowledge.

Sometimes, I pick up code.

And every now and then, I might even pick up a bug.

So, welcome aboard, and come take a look around.

Have a pleasant journey!
