Website Building Notes
Content
In 2023, shortly after graduating with my bachelor’s degree, I was introduced to Hugo, an open-source website framework, thanks to a classmate’s recommendation.
In 2024, after completing my teaching education internship, I decided to build a personal website to document my graduate school studies. Unfortunately, on April 3rd of the same year, a powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Hualien, Taiwan. At the time, I was renting a place near National Dong Hwa University and experienced firsthand the devastation of what was the strongest earthquake since the 921 Earthquake. Since my graduate program in Applied Mathematics was located near the earthquake’s epicenter in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, the disaster severely impacted the university. The fire broke out in the Physics and Chemistry laboratories inside the Science and Engineering Building, completely destroying the D-side of the building. Many research and experimental facilities were left in ruins.
Fortunately, after nearly a year of recovery efforts, the original laboratories were repurposed into faculty offices, and the graduate students’ labs were relocated to the unaffected A-side classrooms, converted into a joint laboratory space. This event disrupted many initial plans, but I am grateful that no lives were lost. The rebuilding process continues.

In 2025, after a year-long delay, my website project resumed on February 21st. After overcoming various technical challenges, I gradually learned the intricacies of using Hugo to build a site. With the LoveIt theme, this website finally took shape.
This challenging journey has been a test of perseverance and self-growth. I hope everything goes smoothly from here on, and I look forward to forging my own path in life.
